
The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating 14-year-old Makayla Nichols, who was reported missing since Friday, May 23, 2025. As reported by ClickOnDetroit, Nichols was last seen on the 200 block of Covington Drive in Detroit, wearing a black jacket and black pants. Standing at 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 110 pounds, she is described as having brown eyes and black and green hair.
In a social media post released by the Detroit Police Department's Missing persons unit, they implored the community to help locate the girl. Wearing a black jacket when she disappeared, the authorities are urging anyone with information about Makayla's whereabouts to make contact. "Please help us find missing Makayla Nichols. If you have any information, please call Detroit's 12th Precinct at (313) 596-1240 or 911,"according to the Detroit Police Department's Missing Facebook page.
Detroit Police Commander Donna McCord is helping with the search for Makayla and has shared her direct line for any tips. Police haven’t released details about how Makayla went missing or named any suspects. Anyone with information is urged to come forward, even anonymously, by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP, as per ClickOnDetroit.
