With winter's retreat, the gates swing wide once more on treasured pathways through Duluth's natural wonders. According to a recent release from the City of Duluth, as of May 1, local drivers can once again traverse stretches of Skyline Parkway, Maxwell Road, and Seven Bridges Road — these scenic routes having been closed to motorized traffic for the winter season.
The specific segments shaking off their seasonal slumber include Skyline Parkway from just east of Glenwood Street to Maxwell Road, Seven Bridges Road from Lakeview Chalet to Maxwell Road, and Maxwell Road giving way from Skyline Parkway down to Oak Street, as per the City of Duluth.
However, it's worth noting a disruption in this seasonal continuity: the West Skyline Parkway stretch, starting from a mere 0.3 miles south of 100th Avenue West, continuing to the city limits, keeps its gates firmly shut due to an undeterred construction project that promises to lift only with its completion.
