Starting May 12, drivers on Ice House Road should expect delays and road closures due to the final phase of a rehabilitation project by the El Dorado County Department of Transportation. The work will take place between Peavine Ridge Road and Wentworth Springs Road in El Dorado National Forest and is scheduled to continue through October, according to the El Dorado County.
Martin Brothers Construction is resuming work to complete the final 8 to 10 miles of road reconstruction. Lane closures are scheduled Monday through Friday, with expected delays of up to 30 minutes during the day and up to one hour at night. The closures are in place to maintain safety for workers and drivers. Motorists are advised to plan for delays and follow posted traffic signs in the work zones, as reported by the El Dorado County.
The road project involves asphalt, code, and reflective paint, requiring cooperation from motorists. The county advises drivers, "Please consider the safety of yourself and others by slowing down when you see traffic control, or a vehicle pulled over on the shoulder." The Department of Transportation’s hotline is available for questions and guidance on the project. More details, including contact information and updates, are available on the El Dorado County’s website.
