The El Paso Community College (EPCC) Leadership Academy has recently hit the 21-year mark, a milestone celebrating over two decades of honing the leadership skills of its participants, according to an EPCC news release.
The celebration featured insights from an array of local leaders, including El Paso Mayor Renard Johnson and Carl Dwyer, the U.S. Army & EPCC Veteran's Center Director; they shared their expertise on leadership and the cruciality of managing time effectively, with Johnson expressing the sentiment, "I'm finding out that time is a resource that I don't have much of anymore!" and realizing the importance of leadership and wise time management, according to EPCC News.
Alongside this, the participants were privy to the wisdom of EPCC President Dr. William Serrata and cabinet members who delivered advice and recounted their individual experiences in leadership, showcasing the college's transparent culture, which allows for a rare and open interaction between leadership and staff, something Carl Dwyer described as "exceptional" due to the rarity of such openness and engagement within many organizations.
