A tragic accident unfolded on Silver Star Road in Pine Hills last night, resulting in the death of a 73-year-old pedestrian. According to WESH, the Florida Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened around 7:30 p.m., a short distance east of Powers Drive. The fatal incident involved a Nissan Altima, which was traveling eastbound when it struck the pedestrian, who at the time was not within the bounds of a marked crosswalk.
The driver, a 24-year-old Orlando woman, reportedly tried to swerve and avoid the collision but was unsuccessful. The impact occurred on the vehicle's front right side, fatally wounding the pedestrian, who was subsequently pronounced dead at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
