
A fatal collision occurred in Lake County on Sunday evening when a bicyclist was struck by a pickup truck on County Road 473. The incident, which took place near Fountain Lake Boulevard around 6:30 p.m., resulted in the death of a 69-year-old man from Eustis, as confirmed by the Florida Highway Patrol. WESH reports that the Toyota Tacoma was traveling southbound when the northbound bicyclist veered into the vehicle's path.
Details from ClickOrlando indicate that the cyclist was riding along the southbound outside shoulder before swerving directly in front of the truck, leading to the collision. The Tacoma's driver, a 61-year-old man from Leesburg, was unharmed and remained at the scene following the crash. He has not yet been charged as the investigation continues.
