Heads up, commuters who frequent Veterans Boulevard. If your travel plans include cruising down this thoroughfare near Peachland Boulevard, expect delays and detours starting bright and early this Wednesday. Both the Town of Charlotte County and SFist are here to arm you with the deets to prevent any unwelcome surprises on your drive. According to an advisory issued by the Town, the right-hand, westbound lane of Veterans Boulevard will be under the knife – closed for sidewalk repairs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., from Wednesday through Friday.
The closure is going to impact traffic flow, no doubt, so an alternate route is your best bet to avoid the snarl. The Public Works Department is on top of it, placing signs to help travelers navigate around the construction with a detour.
Charlotte County's announcement calls for drivers to keep their eyes peeled and wits about them when passing through the area. They're not just peddling advice; it's a plea for the safety of everyone involved, from the hard-hatted workers to the stroller on the corner.
For those hungry for more specifics or perhaps looking to voice a concern, Chad Ray of the Public Works Department is the point man. He can be reached at 941-575-3643.
