A tragic incident unfolded on a Josephine County highway earlier this week when a two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a young man. The Oregon State Police reported that on Monday, they responded to the scene at Highway 199, intersecting with Waldamar Road, after a fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:48 AM.

Investigations at the scene revealed a dire series of events leading up to the accident. Hunter Lee Bryant, aged 24, from Cave Junction, was operating his Toyota Corolla east on Waldamar Road. Upon reaching the highway, the Toyota Corolla failed to obey the stop sign, causing the vehicle to veer into the path of a GMC Yukon. The southbound Yukon, driven by 59-year-old Scott Adam Seaman of Selma, struck Bryant's car on the driver's side door.

Tragically, Hunter Lee Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene. While tragically claiming a life, the collision resulted in minor injuries for the Yukon's operator, Seaman. The incident caused Highway 199 to be closed for an estimated three hours, as the Oregon State Police, the Josephine County Sheriff's Office, and ODOT worked tirelessly at the crash site to perform their investigation and clear the roadway.
