
Yesterday morning, tragedy struck on State Road 429 in Orange County when a woman was ejected from her car and killed as a result of a crash. The incident, which occurred near Western Way, involved a single vehicle - a 2016 Volkswagen Passat. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal event, as reported by ClickOrlando.
The crash took place around 4:27 a.m. at mile marker 8, according to information released by the Florida Highway Patrol. The driver, whose identity has not yet been shared pending notification of the Medical Examiner's office, was in the inner lane heading south when she lost control of the vehicle. The car swerved off the road, and, upon striking the guardrail, the driver was ejected, as detailed by Orange Observer.
At this stage, authorities believe the seat belt was not used when the crash occurred. Troopers at the scene pronounced the woman dead upon their arrival.
