
In the early hours of Monday morning, a devastating vehicle crash left one person dead and four others injured in Fontana, terminating their journey in a conflagration against a sturdy tree on Arrow Boulevard. According to KTLA, the white Subaru, significantly damaged, was set ablaze upon impact, but the fire was swiftly subdued by the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
Responding at approximately 2:25 a.m., firefighters discovered the burning car in the median after it had slammed into a tree. Breaking their way through the wreckage using extrication tools, crews freed the trapped victims within 12 minutes. Despite their rapid response, one passenger did not survive the ordeal and was pronounced dead at the scene, encased tragically in the twisted metal coffin as reported by KTLA.
Four other passengers, extracted from the vehicle's grasp, were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment; "A total of four patients were transported to local hospitals, including three to a regional trauma center," stated the San Bernardino County Fire Department. The identities of the victims and their medical conditions remain undisclosed at this time.
Ten firefighters from Station 71, equipped with one engine, one truck, and one paramedic squad company, as well as a battalion chief, converged on the scene to conduct the rescue operation. Assisting in the emergency, four AMR ambulances carried the injured with San Bernardino County firefighter paramedics aboard, ensuring advanced life support was available during transport, according to details provided by San Bernardino County Fire X Post.
