Antonio Brown, former NFL wide receiver and subject of numerous legal controversies, was reportedly involved in a disturbance early Saturday at a Miami warehouse where a boxing event took place. Local authorities responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating gunshots at the site around 3 a.m. at Northeast Second Avenue and 67th Street, according to Local 10 News. Brown, on social media platform X, stated he was "jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me."
The Miami Police Department, while confirming that gunshots were reportedly heard at the scene, did not make any arrests following their preliminary investigation. "They initiated an investigation, which included canvassing the area and interviewing several individuals," Officer Kiara Delva, a spokesperson for the Miami Police said. "No arrests were made and no injured persons were located in connection with the call," she added, though the investigation continues. Despite Brown's assertion that he was merely "temporarily detained," another source indicates that an arrest did indeed occur.
An account on social platform X, under the handle ONLY in DADE, posted that Brown was "arrested following an altercation that led to gunshots—allegedly fired by Brown—outside Adin Ross’s boxing event last night." Despite the arrest claim, Brown was said to have been released shortly after and even appeared on Adin Ross's livestream.
Witnesses and the event host, Adin Ross, described the fight as happening at a space he rented, with the warehouse owner expressing deep frustration over the incident. "I retained an attorney and could kick out the people who rented the space from me," said the owner, conveying his anger and potential legal response to Local 10 News' Hannah Yechivi. While Brown's altercation didn't lead to an arrest according to official police statements, the reports of his involvement in the violent episode highlight the pattern of past off-the-field issues that have followed the former athlete.
Whether or not charges will be pressed remains uncertain, as Brown declared his intention to consult with his legal counsel on possible action against his alleged attackers.
