Fort Collins residents planning their weekend drives should brace for closures: McClelland Drive will be shut down between West Drake Road and West Horsetooth Road not once but twice, first on May 18 and again on June 15. The closure affects both Sundays, and while we would all love to have a smooth ride every day of the week, the road work will force drivers to reroute their travels to South College Avenue during the closure, even though West Drake Road, West Swallow Road, and West Horsetooth Road will remain accessible at McClelland during the work, for those of you trying to plan, consider yourselves informed.
The City of Fort Collins stated that Transfort, the city's transit service, does not run on Sundays; thus, public transportation users won't face additional challenges due to this closure. Convenience may take a back seat, but at least commuter buses won't suffer from these shutdowns.
