Known as the "door-kicking challenge," this trend involves individuals, commonly teenagers, who get a kick out of recording themselves as they bang or kick on doors, often under the shroud of night, all for the approval of their online peers on platforms like TikTok.
In a statement to the community, Fort Worth Police stressed the seriousness of the act, warning that the seemingly harmless prank is, in fact, illegal. “This viral TikTok trend involves individuals—often teenagers—kicking or banging on doors, usually late at night, while recording the act for TikTok or other social media apps,” the Fort Worth Police Department explained on their Facebook page. Harping on the point, they added that such behavior not only amounts to vandalism but could also escalate quickly if mistaken for a genuine break-in attempt.
