The Gahanna Division of Police has introduced a new face to its team, Communications Technician MaCayla Fullum. In a recent post on their Facebook page, the Gahanna PD extended a warm welcome to Fullum, who will serve as the department's first point of contact for emergency calls.
Fullum's appointment is not simply a change of personnel but an infusion of experience and expertise from the hospitality industry. She is an alumna of The Ohio State University and carries with her three years of experience in opening restaurants and mentoring restaurant managers. "I’m excited to work for Gahanna because I grew up in Gahanna. It’s a beautiful place and a great community," she expressed in the announcement on social media in a statement obtained by the Gahanna Division of Police. Her foray into public service heralds a commitment to the city that shaped her.
The position entails a rigorous training regime, during which Fullum will collaborate with senior communications technicians for months. This training aims to hone the skills necessary to handle the high-pressure demands of receiving 9-1-1 emergency calls and deploying the appropriate emergency services.
