The City of Garland has taken another stride forward in overhauling how its institutions function by concluding its third installment of Business Transformation Leadership Green Belt training. In a development marking more than stepwise progress, this latest session was also a regional affair, involving leaders from nearby Rowlett, Sachse, and Richardson. According to an announcement from the City of Garland's official website, this cross-community participation sets a precedent for a more collaborative approach to municipal management within the area.
During the intensive four-day program, local leaders immersed themselves in learning the ins and outs of process improvement, leadership development, and the application of data to guide decision-making. Preparing to tackle practical transformation projects tailored to their towns, the participants are now ready to use these freshly acquired tools. With weekly coaching and virtual checkpoints to guide them over the next 90 days, they are expected to shepherd their cities towards more streamlined and effective service delivery to residents and visitors alike.
As a sign of commitment to cultivating a new wave of adept leaders, Dillon Morgan Consulting was spotlighted for providing critical support throughout this educational venture. Steve Rhodes told Garland City News, "Each wave has been unique, but this one showed us what’s possible when cities come together to strengthen leadership capacity and build a culture of continuous improvement across our region."
