
A tragic event unfolded today at NVR Building Products in Kings Mountain, where a 67-year-old Gastonia man, Willy Victor Carmona, was pronounced dead. Emergency services received a call around 9:10 a.m. about a man in distress at the manufacturing facility located at 132 Riverside Court. Upon arrival, first responders determined Carmona was not breathing and had succumbed to injuries from what was described as an industrial incident, as reported by Queen City News.
The nature of the accident remains undisclosed, but multiple agencies were quickly at the scene responding to cardiac arrest calls. Despite investigations at their early stages, foul play has been ruled out, according to a statement obtained by WBTV. When the man was reportedly involved in an industrial incident, Carmona was instantly pronounced dead at the facility.
The Kings Mountain Police Department confirmed to WCNC Charlotte that an investigation had been initiated into Carmona's death. They have collaborated with the North Carolina Department of Labor to ascertain the sequence of events that led to the tragic outcome.
NVR Building Products, a subsidiary of NVR that supports housing brands like Ryan Homes, NVHomes, and Heartland Homes, has not provided a statement following a recent incident. The company’s North Carolina operation is part of its building products division, which serves construction projects in eight states. OSHA has been contacted to determine whether an investigation is in progress.
