
Grand Rapids Police are actively seeking clues following a Saturday morning incident that left a man injured from gunshot wounds. According to WZZM13, the shooting took place at around 7:45 a.m. in the 300 block of Cedar Street NE.
Officers were dispatched following reports of the shooting near Lafayette Avenue NE. MLive reported that the victim, a 28-year-old man, sustained three gunshot wounds, two in one leg, and one on the wrist. Lt. Brad Bush noted discrepancies in the victim's account, "The victim gave us a statement, however we don’t believe him to be truthful,” adding that the man's initial account altered from being shot on his porch to being hit by gunfire at a street corner.
Despite being targeted, the specifics behind the shooting remain unclear, and GRPD has yet to reveal any suspect information. The victim's condition has been deemed stable with injuries that are not life-threatening, as indicated by WOODTV.
