Harris County's own modern-day "Bonnie and Clyde" duo has been apprehended after a string of suspected auto thefts and VIN tampering. Sergeant Pleytez of Constable Mark Herman’s office led the investigation that culminated at an address on Day Trip Trail, where both an adult male and female suspect were taken into custody. The crackdown on this illicit operation didn't just stumble upon petty theft; it uncovered a stash of stolen luxury sports cars with a combined value in excess of $100,000, as reported by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
According to a post on the Harris County Constable Precinct 4's Facebook page, the recovered vehicles are set to be returned to they rightful owners. The suspects are currently facing charges for Auto Theft, VIN Tampering, and providing False Information on Title Applications. Following the ongoing investigation, officials anticipate slapping additional charges onto the accused.
Sergeant Pleytez and his team have been working hard to break up auto theft rings through a detailed investigation. To keep the community informed, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 is promoting the “C4 NOW” mobile app, which provides real-time updates on local crime, arrests, and traffic incidents.
