Authorities in Harris County made an arrest in the assault of a senior citizen who was just doing his job as a pool cleaner. The incident, garnering attention for the vulnerability of elderly employees in service roles, happened in the 3200 block of Ivy Falls Drive, where the 72-year-old was supposedly providing a quote for pool cleaning services. The situation swiftly deteriorated when the homeowner, for reasons yet disclosed, attacked the elderly worker, causing him pain and visible injuries, according to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
Following the occurrence, deputies from the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 responded quickly to the scene. The homeowner, identified as Phillip Cassidy, grew confrontational during the quote assessment, which led to the altercation. Efforts to immediately restore calm and to protect the elderly complainant resulted in Cassidy's detention. The Harris County Constable Precinct 4 deputies, trained to swiftly react to such disturbances, may have managed to prevent any further harm. "Philip Cassidy was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Injury to the Elderly. His bond was set at $25,000.00 out of the 262nd District Court,” said Constable Mark Herman in a statement detailed by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4's Facebook page.
