The Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife will begin issuing hunting licenses and stamps for the 2025-2026 season on June 15. Licenses will be available for purchase through June 30, 2026. Hunters can obtain licenses online or through authorized channels, according to the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Hunting licenses in Hawaiʻi can be purchased online by visiting the Division of Forestry and Wildlife hunting homepage and clicking "Get a License." Licenses are also available at local Division of Forestry and Wildlife branches and authorized vendors. A valid hunting license is required for hunting on both public and private lands. The OuterSpatial mobile app is endorsed by Division of Forestry and Wildlife to assist hunters with check-in and check-out, and to purchase special tags and permits online. Hunters are advised to preload the app before going into the field, as reported by the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Division of Forestry and Wildlife provides phone numbers for each island office, from Kaua‘i to Moloka‘i, for hunters who need assistance. Hunting regulations for game birds and mammals are outlined in Hawaiʻi Administrative Rules Titles 13, Chapters 122 and 123, available on the Division of Forestry and Wildlife website. Hunters must have a valid license and follow all rules during the hunting season, as stated by the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
