Get ready to add a splash of color to your weekend plans as the Art Festival of Henderson once again blankets Water Street in creativity this coming Saturday and Sunday. On May 10 and May 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the streets of Henderson, Nevada, will come alive with the work of 132 artists showcasing a plethora of mediums, all for the grand price of zero dollars, as reported by the City of Henderson.
This year's festival won't just tickle your visual senses; there will also be a diverse lineup of entertainment spanning nationally recognized bands, featuring the Grammy-nominated American Patchwork Quartet, and let’s not forget the nine activities and art demonstrations, which range from glassblowing to a vibrant chalk art gallery. In a statement obtained by the City of Henderson, new to the festival are muralists who will be working live to add to Henderson's visual narrative and the Artist Village where art forms like pottery, macrame, and paper flowers will come to life right before your eyes.
The festival, which not coincidentally coincides with Mother's Day weekend, provides the perfect backdrop for a family outing. Among this year’s highlights, according to information provided by the City of Henderson, is featured artist Loisse Ledres — a figure well-versed in the arts and community organization, having worked with nonprofits and cultural hubs across major cities including New York and San Francisco.
Whether you love art or just want a fun way to spend the day, the Art Festival of Henderson has something for everyone. With 132 artists and free performances all day, it's a great Mother’s Day weekend event that won’t break the bank. For the full schedule, check out the festival’s event page. The fun happens at Water Street Plaza and along Water Street, 240 S. Water St., Henderson, NV 89015, as per the City if Henderson.
