A dramatic rescue unfolded yesterday in the Boundary Waters near Angleworm Trail, where a serious fall left an individual in dire need of assistance. According to a social media post from the St Louis County Rescue Squad, the operation included a formidable assembly of teams and equipment, with two helicopters and an extensive ground contingent making their way through the backcountry terrain.
Gratitude was expressed in the post, acknowledging the coordination and toil put forth by multiple agencies, including the Minnesota Air Rescue Team (MART), LifeLink III, Morse-Fall Lake Fire-Rescue, Ely Ambulance, the US Forest Service, the Minnesota DNR, and 911 Dispatchers. In what read as both a statement of appreciation and a report from the front lines of emergency response, the St Louis County Rescue Squad noted, "There are many moving parts to an operation of this magnitude, and y'all got 'er done safely and effectively."
