
Hillsborough County is seeking residents to fill positions on various advisory boards and councils. The Board of County Commissioners has announced openings on several boards, including the Building Board of Adjustment, Appeals & Examiners, and the Tampa Sports Authority, according to the Hillsborough County.
Applicants must be registered voters living in Hillsborough County and must submit an Application/Questionnaire and a Standards of Conduct Form by May 22. Some positions require a background check, which must be completed within 72 hours of receiving the link. Volunteer board roles include the Health Care Advisory Board, which works on improving access to medical care, and the Code Enforcement Board, which handles health and safety code violations. These are unpaid positions.
Hillsborough County’s Cultural Assets Commission is looking for people with experience in areas such as event production and economic development to serve on local boards. Most boards meet monthly or quarterly, and members are expected to attend regularly. Missing meetings without a valid reason may result in removal. Applications can be submitted by mail, fax, email, or in person. All members must also file an annual financial disclosure. There are openings for people with various backgrounds to get involved in county service.
