
The Hillsborough County community grapples with a tragic sequence of events that left one man dead and a bicyclist injured following a shooting incident yesterday afternoon. A spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) disclosed that the events unfolded near Progress Boulevard and South 82nd Street, as reported by FOX 13. Officials state that a female driver, a male passenger, and a child in the back seat came to a stop to engage with an acquainted male suspect, who began to open fire shortly after.
The male passenger was subsequently shot and, in a desperate bid to escape the attack, the driver accelerated away from the scene, inadvertently striking a motorized bicyclist. According to information provided by the authorities, the passenger suffered from upper body gunshot wounds and was promptly taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead just over an hour later, as highlighted by WFLA.
HCSO officials confirmed that the bicyclist who was hit was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries, corroborating details found in the ABC Action News report. Notably, the child in the back seat of the vehicle was unharmed during the incident.
