
Firefighters responded to a residential fire last Friday in the Kalihi neighborhood. The Honolulu Fire Department said the fire occurred at a two-story home at 3086 Kalihi Street. The first units arrived quickly at the scene.
An emergency call was received at 10:27 a.m. last Friday. The first unit arrived at the scene by 10:33 a.m., according to the Honolulu Fire Department. A resident had climbed onto the roof to escape flames and smoke from what was described as a "working fire." Firefighters brought the person to safety and transferred them to American Medical Response by 10:47 a.m.
A total of 39 personnel from 10 units responded to a residential fire, which was controlled at 10:58 a.m. and fully resolved by 11:50 a.m. No additional occupants were found during the search. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and assess the damage. An update regarding the investigation will be published once available, as reported by the Honolulu Fire Department.
