
Nexon Camacho, 22, was taken into custody following a fatal shooting in Houston. He faces murder charges in connection with the death of Mario Vargas, 40. The incident occurred around last Friday at 1446 Sherwood Forest Drive. A photo of Camacho has been released by the Houston Police Department, according to the City of Houston.
Vargas was found deceased from a gunshot wound in a parking lot, and despite efforts from Houston Fire Department paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation, led by Sergeant J. Nielsen and Detective K. Hale, identified Camacho as the shooter through witness testimony. Camacho, who sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his hand, was located at Greater Heights Memorial Hermann Hospital and admitted to the shooting. Charges were filed after coordination with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, as reported by the City of Houston.
The case under incident number 057064925 is ongoing as detectives seek witnesses or information.
