
Escalating concerns about public safety in Houston surged again after a man was fatally shot on West Bellfort Avenue last Friday. Houston police have now begun to swiftly disseminate surveillance photos to the public, hoping to capture the suspected gunman. According to the City of Houston's news release, the suspect is a black male, estimated to be 18 to 25 years of age with locs and donning a black t-shirt, blue shorts, and a crossbody bag at the time of the incident. The photos, displaying the suspect's attire and profile, aim to glean information that might lead to his apprehension.
A person was shot and killed after an argument on a Houston Metro bus turned violent. The victim’s identity hasn’t been released yet, as officials are notifying their family. The shooting happened on the sidewalk near 2200 West Bellfort Avenue, and police are still investigating. Detectives S. Chettry and H. Martinez from the HPD Homicide Division are leading the case, as reported by the City of Houston.
Unfortunately, paramedics from the Houston Fire Department were unable to save the man, and he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. Houston Police Department are now asking anyone with information about the case to come forward and help bring justice.
