U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Philadelphia coordinated the removal of 90 Central Asian undocumented immigrants on April 29, as part of a larger mission that eventually saw a total of over 130 individuals deported. The action culminated with the aliens boarding a flight bound for Uzbekistan in New York on April 30, ICE officials announced.
The mission, according to ICE's statement, was carried out in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security and the government of Uzbekistan. The individuals removed were reportedly from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, and had been residing in different parts of the United States. Uzbekistan took on the financial responsibility for the deportation of its nationals, which reflects a strong bond of security cooperation between Washington and Tashkent, the ICE highlighted.
