Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting in the La Porte neighborhood after a person was found deceased outside a home. According to KPRC 2 reported on Wednesday, the La Porte Police Department responded to a call in the 200 block of S. Jamison Street, where the incident took place.
Concurrently, a related investigation is taking place in Morgan's Point where at least one body was covered with a white tarp, a scene described in the backyard and police were also observed covering up another potential body after a disturbance earlier in the week, FOX 26 detailed. Residents reported hearings yells and gunfire around 8 a.m., which suggests a link to the ongoing crime scene investigations.
Interim Police Chief Kevin Lagana from Morgan’s Point has confirmed there is an active crime scene investigation but hasn’t shared details yet, such as how many people are involved or what caused the deaths. The cases in both La Porte and Morgan’s Point seem to be connected, possibly part of a larger incident. Both areas had a strong police presence, and neighbors reported hearing gunshots around 8 a.m, as per KPRC 2.
