The Irving Police Department has announced its plans to host the annual Police Officer Memorial Ceremony during the National Police Week, which this year runs from May 11 through May 17. In a social media post, the department paid homage to the fallen officers of Texas, including the sacrifice of their members between 2024 and 2025.
The solemn tradition serves as a unity gathering, inviting the public to honor and remember officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Among those remembered are Officer Homs (EOW: 7.3.93), Officer Hawkins (EOW: 12.24.00), and Officer Esparza (EOW: 4.13.07). "Each year, we gather in unity to show our unwavering support and ensure their sacrifice is never forgotten," the Irving Police Department shared in the Facebook post.
