In a recent call to action, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office turned to social media to seek aid in locating a suspect they've dubbed the "Package Pirate." According to their Facebook post, earlier this month, an unidentified man entered a package room at an Avondale apartment complex. The man walked out with four packages that were not addressed to him. The surveillance footage capturing the theft shows the suspect apparently selecting the packages he found most appealing, just as if he were shopping.

"Our detectives would like to speak to him about mail works (specifically how taking other people’s mail is a crime!)" the Sheriff's Office stated, along with a security camera image of the suspect from the apartment complex.

Residents whose packages were taken are seeking the return of their property. The Sheriff's Office encourages anyone who recognizes the individual to call 904.630.0500 or contact First Coast Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1.866.845.TIPS. A cash reward may be available for information that assists the investigation.
