Goodwill Industries of Hawai‘i is hosting a reuse collection event on May 30 at the Kaua‘i Resource Center. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., residents can drop off gently used items to give them a new life and keep them out of the landfill, according to the County of Kaua'i.

The event is accepting a wide range of items—like old clothes, shoes, books, toys, and small furniture. Even torn or stained clothing is welcome. However, don’t bring anything with a plug, chemicals, appliances, or broken items, as reported by the County of Kaua'i.

If you can’t make it to the Kaua‘i Resource Center, Goodwill can help—businesses and thrift stores can call 808-241-4838 to arrange a pick-up. Homeowners can also contact Habitat for Humanity Restore or RP’s Random Closet for pick-up services. If you're interested in more ways to recycle or reuse items on Kaua‘i, call 808-241-4841 or visit the County of Kaua'i website.
