Local entrepreneur Kimberly Black and her company, Trusted Field Services, are now part of the team helping build Covenant Health Park. A social media post from the City of Knoxville - Government detailed Black's path to earning a subcontract for installing essential infrastructure elements at the stadium.
Wishing to be part of the narrative shaping Covenant Health Park, Black didn't just wait to be found. She proactively sought out mentors and allied with organizations such as Denark, the project manager, and the Knoxville Urban League. This collaboration laid the groundwork for her company to strategically obtain a stake in the project. Trusted Field Services will be responsible for installing concrete bollards, bike racks, benches, and trash containers, as detailed in the city government's post.
Black's commitment to civic projects is resonant with personal purpose as she recognizes the tangible impact of her work on local communities. "It’s fulfilling to work on public projects," she says, as noted by the city's post. Her role goes beyond construction—she focuses on improving accessibility and enhancing quality of life. She envisions her work helping people with mobility challenges reach their bus stops more easily and creating welcoming spaces where families can relax and enjoy the stadium.
