In a digital nod to nostalgia, the Lake County Sheriff's Office is stitching together a fabric of history, one photo and artifact at a time. Sheriff Frank Leonbruno recently unearthed a video from 2018 that highlights the department's storied past. Shared on social media, this clip serves as an invitation for the community to contribute to their growing archive of historical materials.
Added to the collection are contributions from the relatives of a deceased Deputy Sheriff and retired officers, Capt. Ron Radovanic and Chief Deputy Charles Caldwell. These new inputs are fleshing out the historical record, revealing the human faces and stories behind the badge. "And recently a Deputy Sheriff’s family who had passed away gave us some great historical photos, as well as getting historical pieces from retired Capt. Ron Radovanic and retired Chief Deputy Charles Caldwell," stated Sheriff Frank Leonbruno in a social media post.
The department is actively seeking additional personal mementos and encourages anyone with historical photos or items to reach out. Interested parties can contact the Sheriff’s Office directly at (440)350-5517 or by email at [email protected].
