On last Tuesday, at around 10 A.M., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a report of a man assaulting a woman at the intersection of Russell and Nellis. Officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Southeast Area Command and the AIR2 unit responded to the scene.
Officers located the pair nearby, but the man attempted to flee towards the freeway. A search involving AIR2 and ground units led to his location near a bridge. The suspect then ran onto the freeway, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Civilians stopped traffic to assist in the safe apprehension of a man, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on their Facebook page. The situation was resolved without injury, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department praised the efforts of both officers and civilians. "This was an incredibly dangerous situation—handled with professionalism and teamwork," they stated.
