On Tuesday, the Nevada Department of Transportation began overnight lane closures in the Las Vegas Valley to replace I-515 signs with new I-11 signs. The closures are part of an ongoing effort to update freeway signage, and drivers should expect changes to their nighttime commutes, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.
Lane reductions are in effect on east and westbound I-215, between Valle Verde Dr. and Gibson Rd., from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. This work, part of a larger project spanning from Henderson to Kyle Canyon Road, is scheduled on Tuesday and Wednesday, with further closures expected in the following days, as reported by the Nevada Department of Transportation.
In November 2023, I-515 between the Henderson Interchange and Kyle Canyon Road was renamed I-11 to improve travel and support regional economic growth. The project aims to enhance trade and transport connections from Mexico to Canada. Motorists are advised to use caution, consider alternate routes, and check real-time updates on Waze. Schedules may change due to weather or other factors.
