The Inglewood-based Hollywood Park, a sprawling 300-acre mixed-use development, has been designated to host the International Broadcast Center (IBC) during the LA28 Games. This establishment will house hundreds of media outlets from across the globe, providing unprecedented coverage of the event.
According to an announcement made by Los Angeles Rams Owner and Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke, Hollywood Park Studios will emerge as an epicenter for media, entertainment, and technology, bolstering the area's metamorphosis. "The vision for Hollywood Park has always been to build a city within a city combining media, entertainment and technology that will transform the greater Los Angeles area," Kroenke told SoFi Stadium's official site. Furthermore, post-Games, the facility is slated to be repurposed for studio production and operations, opening the door for an influx of industry ventures.
The IBC's role is crucial, essentially serving as the world's largest broadcast facility during the Games. A statement from the LA28 Organising Committee highlighted that the location will offer customized space for offices, studios, control rooms, and additional services for broadcasters. The larger purpose, as explained by LA28, is to ensure that coverage of the Games reaches nearly every corner of the planet, creating a global experience that is both seamless and inspirational. Catering to a wide range of production needs, Hollywood Park Studios will initially be comprised of five sound stages, with additional facilities such as an open base camp area and parking structure to accommodate 60 trailers.
