A lost hiker was rescued from the Nu'uanu Pali trail in Honolulu after a call on Monday. The emergency call came in at 4:24 p.m., and 11 personnel from 3 units responded. The first responders arrived at 4:39 p.m., set up command, and prepared a landing zone at the nearby Nu'uanu Reservoir for air operations, according to the Honolulu Fire Department.
The operation lasted less than an hour. The hiker was located by 5:24 p.m. and airlifted to safety. After being brought to the landing zone, the hiker declined medical services. The hiker, fire department personnel, and another hiker left the trail without any reported injuries, as stated by the Honolulu Fire Department.
