The Loudon County Sheriff's Office recently took a break from its law enforcement duties to engage with the small folks of Greenback School's Pre-K class. In an effort to foster early relationships between law enforcement and the community, Sheriff Jimmy Davis, alongside Deputy Chiefs Hutchens and Kirkland, brought their K-9 Unit for a day of education and fun. According to Loudon County Sheriff's Office's Facebook page, the visit included demonstrations and conversations about the role K-9 partners play in police work.
Witnesses said the children were thrilled to meet the furry members of the force, with K-9 Deputy Chance Gray and K-9 Corporal Clay Jenkins leading the charge. They talked to the youth about how these trained dogs assist in keeping the community safe. This hands-on approach was meant to quickly, yet significantly, establish a bond between the kids and the officers.
