A tragic incident occurred over the Memorial Day weekend at the Salt River, where a man, later identified as 54-year-old Stephan Sweet, died after falling off his tube. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the event took place at approximately 10 a.m. last Saturday at Sheep's Crossing Recreation Site.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) responded to the scene after a witness reported seeing Sweet fall off his tube and subsequently become unresponsive in the water. Upon arrival, deputies discovered several individuals attempting to resuscitate Sweet through CPR.
ABC 15 reported that first responders continued life-saving efforts and transported the man to Bus Stop 2 bridge where he, unfortunately, was pronounced dead. MCSO has ruled out foul play but continues to actively investigate to duly ascertain what led to the fatal incident.
