An overnight shooting at an Orange County apartment complex has left a man in his 20s dead. The incident, which occurred last night around 8 p.m. on the 1200 block of Vizcaya Lake Road near Central Florida Christian Academy, is under investigation by local deputies. According to a report from WFTV, first responders discovered the victim with gunshot wounds at one of the apartment buildings. He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Following the shooting, authorities have indicated that the parties involved are accounted, and there’s no current threat to the public. However, there is still no word on whether any arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
Neighbors described a distressing scene, with multiple reports of hearing the sound of gunshots. A resident, who remains anonymous for her safety, recounted the moment following the incident to WESH, saying she witnessed the man fall down the stairs after being shot. Despite the ensuing panic, as people dispersed from the scene, she stayed with the victim until emergency services arrived. "That's not fair," she said, reflecting on her decision not to leave him to die alone.
According to authorities, all parties involved in the incident have been accounted for, which hopefully offers some solace to local residents.
