A stabbing incident occurred last night in Long Beach, leaving one man injured, according to the Long Beach Police Department. Officials responded to a report of a stabbing in the vicinity of Harbor Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway at around 5:48 p.m. on Wednesday, as detailed in a police blotter release.
The victim, identified only as a male adult, suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds to the upper body. The Long Beach Fire Department was quick to transport him to a local hospital for treatment. The incident took place while the victim was simply walking outside on the 1600 block of West 20th Street. He was suddenly, and seemingly without provocation, approached and then stabbed by an unknown assailant. The police have yet to firmly establish a motive and are currently working to gather detailed suspect information.
