
An incident has been reported in Manhattan where a man is wanted for sexual assault and robbery. The New York Police Department (NYPD) has issued an alert seeking information about an unidentified individual involved in the crime that took place on Tuesday night. According to a social media post from the NYPD Crimestoppers, the events unfolded at around 11:30 p.m. within the vicinity of Lenox Avenue and West 129 Street.
The victim, a 28-year-old female, was approached by the suspect who initially called out to her for attention. As stated by the NYPD, what began as a brief conversation quickly escalated when the assailant grabbed the woman's arm, leading to a struggle. The man proceeded to sexually assault the victim and robbed her of $20 and a cellphone from her pocket. Despite her attempts to retrieve her belongings, the victim was unsuccessful. Following the assault, the perpetrator fled on foot, heading southbound on Lenox Avenue.
The NYPD's 32nd Precinct, responsible for the area in which the crime took place, has spearheaded the investigation and is actively searching for the suspect. The department has turned to the public for assistance, urging anyone with information about this crime to come forward.
