Mansfield residents should brace for a slight inconvenience as local parks undergo renovations this week. The Mansfield, Texas, Parks & Recreation department, via a social media update, has announced several closures throughout the area. The construction work to enhance the city's park infrastructure is expected to improve safety and accessibility. McClendon Park East has been temporarily closed off from May 12 to May 19 for underground electrical work and paving of the entry drive.
Further works at Philip Thompson Soccer Complex and Donald R. Barg Park commenced yesterday, with crews focused on repainting parking lots to meet ADA compliance. This operation, designed to have minimal impact on park goers, was scheduled overnight to ensure availability for the public by the following day.
Nonetheless, Mansfield, Texas Parks & Recreation has warned of possible delays in reopening these parks on Tuesday morning. The message relayed by the department underscored the closures as a necessary step towards a "better, more *remarkable* Mansfield park system!"
