
A tragic incident unfolded yesterday evening in Marysville when a 19-month-old girl drowned in a pond. ABC6 reported that the child was found unresponsive at a location in the 19000 block of Paver Barnes Road after 7 p.m.
Union County Sheriff's Office confirmed the incident, noting in details provided to WBNS that a deputy arrived approximately eight minutes after the initial 911 call, and the child was immediately given CPR upon the deputy's arrival. The toddler was taken to Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead at 9:03 p.m.
Further information from NBC4i explains that the emergency was first attended to by the child's mother who began CPR, the Sheriff’s Office received the emergency call at around 7:23 p.m.
The young girl was transported to the Montgomery County Crime Lab, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. Her identity has not yet been disclosed to the public.
