The Maui Police Department is turning to the public for help in locating a missing teen, Nevaeh Battel, who was last reported to be seen on the early Sunday evening. According to a post on the Maui Police Department’s Facebook page, the 14-year-old from Haiku was headed to a friend’s house but never returned home. A family member reported her missing shortly afterwards.
Standing at 5-foot-5-inches, and weighing approximately 130 pounds, Battel is of Hawaiian/Caucasian descent, featuring black hair and brown eyes. The police describe her as last wearing a dark-colored sweater and shorts, marking the elements of a Hawaiian dusk she reportedly set out into. Importantly noted, she does not own a vehicle or have access to a cellular phone, which adds to the urgency and complexity of her disappearance, as reported by the Maui Police Department.
The Maui Police Department is asking anyone who knows where Battel might be to speak up. If you have any information, call the non-emergency number at 808-244-6400, or dial 911 in an emergency. Be sure to mention case number 25-012991.
