L&L Hawaiian Barbecue at 270 Dairy Road, Unit #170 in the Maui Marketplace Food Court has reopened. The Hawai‘i Department of Health Maui Food Safety Branch gave the restaurant a green “pass” placard after an inspection last Friday, according to the Hawai‘i Department of Health.
Maui L & L Food Inc. reopened after a May 12 inspection found significant cockroach activity, which caused a temporary closure. The restaurant has since eliminated the pests and repaired affected areas. Following Hawai‘i Department of Health requirements, the establishment will have weekly pest control treatments for the next three weeks to maintain cleanliness.
The Hawai‘i Department of Health requires the person in charge of a restaurant to oversee preventive measures and pest control to maintain food safety. The Hawai‘i Department of Health Food Safety Branch conducts inspections, provides education, and regulates food service practices across Hawai‘i.
