
The Memphis Police Department has announced the tragic loss of one of their own, Police Officer Scotty Triplett, in a vehicle collision while performing an escort duty. The news, shared via a social media post, detailed the events leading up to the incident on Hickory Hill Road around 4:45 pm.
According to the post by the Memphis Police Department, Officer Triplett was traveling northbound on his motorcycle, escorting other officers, when a car, failing to yield to his emergency signals, made a left turn in front of him at Swaying Pine Lane. The resulting collision critically injured Triplett, who was then rushed to a local hospital, where, after all efforts to save his life proved unfruitful, he passed away.
Officer Scotty Triplett was a dedicated force member, serving 27 years with the Memphis Police Department. His long-standing commitment to service is now honored and mourned by his colleagues and the city he helped protect. Triplett leaves a legacy of commitment and bravery, and a family comprising his wife and two children, who are now without a husband and father.
