Memphis authorities have shuttered Infiniti Sports Bar & Grill, also known as Club Infiniti, in a decisive move aimed at quelling the spate of violent incidents and illegal activities that have plagued the establishment. The nuisance closure, executed on Tuesday by the Memphis Police Department and the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, comes after a sustained pattern of dangerous activity at the North Watkins Street location that has threatened public safety over the last two years.

According to records cited by the City of Memphis website, MPD logged 93 calls for service at Club Infiniti between May 2023 and May 2025, with reports ranging from shots fired to armed individuals. In a troubling escalation, four homicides were reported at the site in just the first five months of 2025. The police also dealt with 264 calls in the immediate vicinity, 14 of which involved violent crimes.

"Club Infiniti has been the site of multiple serious incidents that have put lives at risk and disrupted the peace of this neighborhood. And today, we are taking decisive action to shut it down," Memphis Mayor Paul Young stated, indicating a firm governmental stance against such hotbeds of crime. In addition to violations associated with violent crimes, the establishment’s manager, John Curry, faces multiple charges related to the illegal sale and storage of liquor.

Making clear that the clampdown on nuisance properties would not stop here, Memphis Police Chief ‘CJ’ Davis warned business owners of the consequences of flouting the law. “This is not a one-and-done. There are other properties on our radar, and more actions are coming. Every business owner in this city has a choice: be part of the solution or be held accountable,” Davis said. As noted by the official statement, efforts are ongoing to address the clusters of criminal activity that have gathered around certain businesses.

Collaboration was a theme returned to by Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy, who remarked on the teamwork necessary to address such public safety concerns. Meanwhile, State Representative Antonio Parkinson echoed the sentiment of accountability and the broader effects of shutting down such establishments: "When we shut down nuisance businesses, it removes the gathering places for criminal activities and sends a strong message to other irresponsible property and business owners: this will no longer be tolerated in our city." MPD is still investigating a recent fatal shooting at the now-closed club and has sought the public’s help, with CrimeStoppers offering a $4,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
