
The Metropolitan Police Department is currently on the lookout for a person of interest following a recent shooting that left two women injured in Northwest D.C. As reported by MPD's official statement, the incident occurred on Sunday.
At around 3:25 AM, police officers were called to the 600 block of H Street, Northwest, after reports of a shooting surfaced. While initially no victims were found at the scene, two adult females were later identified, having arrived at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. These injuries were confirmed to be linked to the shooting and were thankfully deemed non-life-threatening.
The police have managed to secure surveillance footage that shows the person of interest connected with this act of violence. Images of the individual in question have been released in a bid to seek the help of the community in identifying them. The investigation into this heinous crime is ongoing, and members of the public are urged to cooperate.
Authorities are appealing for information from anyone who might know about the incident. The Metropolitan Police encourage witnesses or anyone with information to "take no action but call police" at (202) 727-9099 or to text their tip to the department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The MPD has also announced a reward of up to $1,000 for information that could lead to the arrest and indictment of the perpetrator.
